Who We Are

UNSHACKLED is a Bible-based audio drama ministry.

What makes us unique?

Well, the dramas we produce are true stories – maybe even of people you know. We tell of individuals’ desperate situations, their brokenness, and the hopeless scenarios they faced…but ultimately, of the One who saved them.

How did we come to learn about these stories?

Our ministry was born in the heart of a homeless Mission, a gospel-centered rehabilitation center in downtown Chicago called Pacific Garden Mission. Here, people wander in at the end of their rope. But their souls find new meaning when they choose to trust in the One who paid the penalty for their sins. We began by telling their stories. And now we accept testimonies from all over the world!

By the grace of God, Pacific Garden Mission is still going strong and so are we. We’ve been creating our true-life audio dramas since 1950 and recording them on-site at Pacific Garden Mission every Saturday! (Go to “Visit Us” right here on this site to learn more)

After more than 70 years, we’re aired on more than 3,000 radio stations, on six continents, in fifteen languages — English, Spanish, Arabic, Romanian, Russian, Polish, Korean, Japanese, Portuguese, Greek, Macedonian, Albanian, Mandarin, Farsi, and Turkish.

But UNSHACKLED has also taken to the web, podcasting platforms, YouTube, and Smart TV channels! And to continue reaching new audiences, we’ve also introduced new programs, including UNSHACKLED Daily Devotionals, History’s Greatest Sermons, UNSHACKLED In Person, and our children’s show, the Clu Crew.

Mission:

To proclaim the message of salvation & the power of God through both audio and video format, so that everyone might hear and give Him praise.

Based on Mark 16:15, “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”

Vision:

We reveal the flawless, Biblical character of God and his works in the lives of sinful human beings, redeeming those “of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues.” We dramatize the transformation through salvation – the ensuing triumphs and purpose of this life and the assurance of eternal victory in the next.

Based on Matthew 28:19, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations.”

Please call me Lizby – all my friends do! In my position here at UNSHACKLED, I help oversee projects, facilitate communication, and do my best to prep everything for a smooth recording. I love the variety of my job and getting to serve my Lord and Savior in such a creative environment!

My favorite part of Unshackled is our live production on Saturday’s where I engage with listeners and actors in person (I am also grateful to be away from my desk on Saturday’s 😀). In my position, one thing I love is praying with people over the phone and briefly hearing testimonies of those who want to share their story with us! I am in awe of what God does through the program.

I am very blessed and thankful to be a part of Unshackled, sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ all over the globe!

In my position, I really enjoy the admin work and contact with our listeners by email and by phone ~ answering questions and tracking down information. I help to process the testimonies we receive as well.

Cammy is a life-long Chicagoan who lives with her husband and their colony of guinea pigs. She works in video production as well, and spends her free time doing church activities, being bad at video games, and even worse at karaoke.
